Giveaway
Definition
A giveaway is a free item a host offers during a show, entered by tapping a button in the stream, drawn at random after a short countdown. Hosts use giveaways to bring viewers in, hold them through slow stretches, and reward followers.
Platforms require giveaways to be free to enter and run through their own tool so the draw is fair. Hosts time them deliberately: one at the open to pull people in from the feed, one when the room starts to thin, one before a big item to make sure the room is full. Giveaway entries are also a cheap read on how many viewers are actually paying attention versus idling.
