Seller fees (commission)
Also called: Platform commission, Final value fee
Definition
Seller fees are what a live platform charges on each sale: a commission, which is a percentage of the item price, plus a payment processing fee, usually a percentage of the total plus a fixed amount per order. Rates and bases differ by platform and change often.
Whatnot's commission is tiered by the seller's trailing 28-day sales and charged on the item price only; processing is charged on the full order including shipping and tax. eBay Live uses its own commission with a per-item cap, charged on the total the buyer pays, and does not apply eBay's standard final value fee. Most third-party fee posts quote rates that are out of date.
